BackCountry In Revolt
This is the fourth-grade field study. We partner with the Cultural & Heritage Museums. Students will take a trip to York County’s Historic Brattonsville to learn about the Revolutionary War. Students will be challenged to consider why some people became Patriots while others remained Loyalists. They will learn about 18th-century militia drills and participate in a guided tour of the Huck’s Defeat Battlefield. Additionally, students will learn about the impact of war on women, children, and the enslaved.
This is the fifth-grade field study. Students visit our district's Rosenwald school, the Carroll School. Students learn about life during the Great Depression as told from an African-American perspective.
