1995 - 2020 - Celebrating 25 Years!
Welcome to ParentSMART!
Rock Hill Schools - Parent Education Partnership
“Where Parents are at the Heart of Education.”ParentSMART began in 1995 as a mandate from the South Carolina State Department of Education under Act 135. The mandate stated that all school districts in the state would create Parent Education programs to support parents in their role as their child’s best and first teacher. Over the past 21 years, ParentSMART has grown into much more, supporting families in their role as the child’s most influential teacher. Through our partnerships, both formal and informal, ParentSMART has evolved into a one-stop shop, Family Resource Center dedicated to empowering families in order for their children to become successful in school as well as in life. Our vision is that all families will have the knowledge, power and courage to reach their greatest potential today and in the future. Our mission continues to align with the Early Learning Partnership and the Family Resource Centers in York County which states that “ParentSMART and the Rock Hill Family Resource Center provide leadership, educational support and resources, to implement quality programs that strive to engage and empower parents in their role as their child's first teacher. The Center offers a family-focused environment that welcomes culturally and socio-economically diverse families."
