School Resource Officers
-
School Resource Officers (SRO’s) are full-time, sworn, state certified police officers who are assigned to work in the school setting. In additional to the standard training required of all police officers, SRO’s receive specialized training to aid in their interactions with students, staff, and administration in Rock Hill School District 3. The SRO’s primary duties are that of law enforcement, law-related educator, and law-related counselor. They work closely with school staff and administration to provide a safe environment and foster positive and meaningful relationships with the students. Through an agreement with the Rock Hill Police Department and the York County Sheriff’s Office, there are currently ten SRO’s assigned to Rock Hill School District 3 who work primarily in the middle and high schools.
