    Certified Application Process 
    Rock Hill Schools require all certified applicants to complete an on-line application located on the district’s home page.  Click Apply Now.
    All requested information should be uploaded before being considered for a position.  Information requested includes:

    • current credential
    • all transcripts (undergraduate and graduate)
    • three references – you can upload paper references or enter an email address of each person you would like to receive an electronic form.

    Applications will be examined and qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a pre-screening interview with the district’s Director of Recruitment prior to any interviews at the school level.  Criteria used in the screening process include consideration of the applicant’s educational background, training, previous experience, abilities, communication skills, and information obtained from references.
    Applicants should not contact building administrators directly.

    Certified Employment Procedure
    The following procedure is utilized in the employment of certified personnel in Rock Hill School District Three:

    After the pre-screening interview at the district or a college job fair, school administrators will conduct their own interviews and make recommendations for employment to the Chief Personnel Officer.  
    Pending clear background checks with SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) and USDNSOPW (U. S. Department of National Sex Offender Public Website), the Chief Personnel Officer will decide to submit /not submit the recommendation to the Board of Trustees for final approval.  If approved at all levels, a contract will be issued.
    Applicants interviewed for specific positions are notified when a final decision is made by the hiring administrator.

    Non-Certified Application Process
    All applicants must complete an online non-certified employment application through the district’s website at rock-hill.k12.sc.us and submit all requested information before being considered for a position.  Once a completed application is submitted, applicants are encouraged to check the district’s website for available vacancies and apply for positions individually.  Information to accompany the completed application includes:

    • Three favorable references (preferably from previous supervisors, co-workers, etc.)
    • References from relatives will not be accepted
    • Official college transcripts, if college/university information is listed on application

    Criteria used in the application screening process include consideration of the applicant’s educational background, training, previous experiences, abilities, and communication skills.  The interview process provides additional information about experiences, abilities and communication skills.  Administrators with specific vacancies will contact applicants for an interview upon reviewing the application for the posted position.  Applicants should not contact building administrators directly.

    Non-Certified Employment Procedure
    The following procedure is utilized in the employment of full-time non-certified personnel in Rock Hill Schools:

    • Administrators complete the interview process and make a recommendation for employment to the Chief Personnel Officer.
    • Pending a clear background report, the Chief Personnel Officer determines whether or not the recommendation is accepted. 
    • Upon approval and acceptance of position, an at-will employment agreement is offered to the selected individual.
    • Applicants interviewed for specific positions are notified when a final decision is made by the hiring administrator

    • three references – you can upload paper references or enter an email address of each person you would like to receive an electronic form.

    Applications will be examined and administration will set up interviews based on the qualifications of each applicant and job posting. Applicants should not contact building administrators directly.

    Administrator Employment Procedure

    After interviews at the district or school level, administration will make a recommendation for employment to the Chief Personnel Officer.
