Rock Hill Schools Announces Administrative Changes

Rock Hill Schools’ Board of Trustees approved the following administrative changes as recommended by district leadership. We look forward to welcoming the following individuals to Rock Hill Schools.

 

Traci Ayer has been named Educator Engagement Specialist.

 

Ayer is joining the human resources team after spending a year as a Director of Counseling and Academic Advisor. She has more than 28 years of experience teaching math – most recently at a charter school and previously at York Technical College, Northwestern High School, and in North Augusta.

 

She has a proven track record of classroom success as she led students to a 100 percent pass rate in Algebra 1 end of course exams for 12 years.

 

Ayer earned a Master of Education in Secondary Guidance from Clemson University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Clemson University.

 

Gina Jenkins will serve as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Certified Employees. Jenkins has been serving in the interim role since January.

 

She joined the Rock Hill Schools Human Resources Department in 2020 as Human Resources Director where she has created new programs for recruitment, and educator support. She also has worked with federal programs and policies to ensure compliance.

 

Her career includes six years as a coordinator of educator effectiveness, ongoing work as an adjunct professor, a year as a district-level curriculum specialist, and 11 years as a middle school teacher.

 

She earned an Education Specialist degree and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University and a Master of Arts in Teaching for Middle Level Education from Furman University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Winthrop University.

 

Darren Wilson has been named Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Classified Employees. He has spent the last four years serving as a high school principal.

 

His career also includes more than 11 years as an assistant principal, ten years as a business teacher and two years as a teacher aide. He also worked as a head coach and a defensive coordinator of a football program and was named Area Coach of the Year and Region Coach of the Year.

 

Wilson holds a Master of Education Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Arts in Teaching for Business Education from Winthrop University. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Gardener-Webb University.
