RHS Back the Pack Receives $25,000 from State Farm

“Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.” Because of our generous and charitable neighbor State Farm, the Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation and Back the Pack Program received a $25,000 check on behalf of the State Farm’s Neighborhood Assist Program. The check was presented today at the Rock Hill Schools Applied Technology Center.

With over 4,000 applications submitted to the State Farm’s Neighborhood Assist Program, the review committee selected the top 200 finalists and a public voting determined the 100 grant winners. Rock Hill Schools Back the Pack is one of the nationwide grant winners and received a check for $25,000! The State Farm donation was part of the nationwide program held by State Farm to help 100 local communities as a celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary.

The money will provide food to hundreds of children who are in need of nutritional support during the weekends when they are not receiving school meals. With the support of Back the Pack, children will not go hungry over the weekend. Bags of food are discreetly placed in student bookbags on Fridays so they can be well nourished throughout the weekend and come to school ready to learn every Monday.

On behalf of Rock Hill Schools, the Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation, and Back the Pack we thank State Farm for the $25,000 grant and for supporting our program.
