Rock Hill Schools Announces Administrative Changes

On Sept. 13, 2021, Rock Hill Schools’ Board of Trustees approved the following administrative changes for the 2021-2022 school year as recommended by district leadership.  We look forward to welcoming the following individuals to Rock Hill Schools.

Artarshia Lyons will join Sullivan Middle School as assistant principal.

She has been working as a middle school science and social studies teacher since 2006 with her most recent assignment at Pleasant Knoll MS in Fort Mill. Some of her accomplishments there have been honing in on her leadership skills as department spokesperson in addition to being part of the School Leadership Team. She’s also served as a cheerleading coach and track coach in several schools within the local area. 

She earned a Master of Arts in Middle Grades Education and a Master of Arts in Administration from Gardner Webb University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina.

Flor de Lis Morales Torres will join the Rock Hill Schools team as a Coordinator for World Languages. 

She will provide leadership for district world languages initiatives and programs. 

She brings 25 years of teaching experience with her as she joins the district from Clover High School where she’s been working as a Spanish teacher. In this role, she has served as an ADEPT mentor and evaluator for both French and Spanish in addition to leading a variety of curriculum projects. Prior to her work in Clover, Ms. Morales Torres served with RHS as a language immersion teacher at Cherry Park Elementary and Richmond Drive Elementary. Her experience includes teaching Spanish in the local area as well as in Illinois.

Ms. Morales Torres earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University and a Master of Education in Educational Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Concentration and Mathematics from Judson University.
