Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University

Ms. Virginia Theriault

About Me: I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and then went to Clemson University for four amazing years (Go Tigers!!) and I got my degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Literacy, Culture, and Diversity. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade and feel that this is truly what I am meant to do! I will be starting my work towards a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop this fall and can't wait to develop my understanding of the education field even more. This will be my fifth year teaching at YRES!

Favorite thing about teaching: I love getting to help my students face challenges to think outside the box and push themselves to be their best self, in the classroom and beyond. Getting to help them succeed in ways that they may never have imagined before is my favorite thing. Reading is my favorite subject to teach because I love sharing my love for books with my students and helping them gain the skills and passion to be lifelong readers as well.

Family: My family is very close. We love to travel and play lots and lots of board games! Though we live in many different places now, I love going to visit all of them for holidays and special occasions.

Hobbies: I love to read books, watch movies, cook, travel to new places, go bowling, spend time with friends and family, and cheer on the Clemson Tigers!!

Favorite Things: dolphins, KitKats, Bojangles, plants, anything Clemson related, wandering the rows of books at a book store
