Mrs. Jennifer Hudson

Background: This summer we moved to the area from Myrtle Beach, as my husband took a job in Fort Mill. I have lived in New York, Massachusetts, England and North Carolina before meeting my husband, Russ. We have built a wonderful life together in the Carolinas.

Teaching Experience:  This will be year 14 for me. I taught fifth grade for 4 years in Charlotte Mecklenburg schools before moving to the beach. Once at the beach, the majority of my teaching experience came in fourth grade.  I have my Bachelor’s degree in psychology and literature and a Master’s degree in elementary education. I also have my Read 2 Succeed and Gifted & Talented endorsements.

Grade level: 4th Grade

Favorite thing about teaching: My favorite aspect of teaching is creating a safe, loving, supportive and educational environment for all of my learners, their families and my colleagues.

Class DOJO:  I use Class DOJO to help parents stay connected with our daily progress. This program allows for us to send private messages back and forth as well as providing a platform for students to share their work digitally.

Family: My husband and I have four fantastic young adults! Our youngest son, Scott, is a freshman at Northwestern High School. The other three children are attending school back at the beach: Jack is completing work toward a Criminal Justice degree at Horry Georgetown Technical College: Bella is a freshman at Coastal Carolina University and will be studying elementary education: Robert is a senior at the Academy of Arts, Science and Technology in Myrtle Beach.

Hobbies: I love football, at all levels, and enjoy spending weekends cheering on our teams. I enjoy spending time with my family and I love to go camping.

Pets: Russ and I have 4 dogs (5 months to 10 years) and are always considering growing our pack.

Favorite things: M&M's, football season (Go Gamecocks & Keep Pounding Panthers!), the Outer Banks and going to the movies.
