I have worked with all areas and all age/grade levels of the students I teach. I love what I do and I love York Road. I received my BS degree from Winthrop College and my Master +30 hours at University of N.C., Charlotte. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Exceptional Needs: Birth –age 21. I am state certified in 4 areas of Special Education. I have served on many state committees in alternative assessment and curriculum design.
I have lived in Rock Hill and have been married to my sweet husband, Jim, for 43 years. We are proud parents of three wonderful adult children. We have two older fur babies that keep us company in a quiet house. Suzie-Q is our Corgi and Knockout is our orange tabby cat. I enjoy going to theatre productions, reading, music, and my church family.
Teaching is a profession that goes far beyond the classroom. It has been an honor to serve as mentor teacher for over 45 student interns in teacher training programs through three universities. I treasure the life long ties I have with my classroom students and their families. Nothing thrills me more than to celebrate my students’ achievements of life skills that will carry them throughout their life. We work very hard in my classroom to “Be the Best We Can Be” everyday! All my students are ‘MY SUPER HEROES! I do my best to work with our community, teachers, parents, and children to help each year be a successful one.
