Ms. Jannetta Morrison
I love teaching first grade! I am amazed each year to see how each child grows throughout the year. Every year I am astounded by the progress that these young children make as learners and how they become independent readers, writers and mathematicians. This year will be my 15th year teaching and my 2nd at York Road as a first grade teacher. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop University and Early Childhood Montessori training from Lander University. Over the last two years I have taken professional development courses with the S.C. State Department in Foundational Leadership Skills and Numeracy Leadership. I also just completed Reading Recovery courses through Clemson University. I am very passionate about teaching and work hard to continue to make myself a better teacher each year.
When I am not teaching or taking classes to become a better teacher I spend time with my children and dogs. I have two boys and one girl. My oldest, Jon, is 25 and lives on his own. My middle child Sophia is just starting her sophomore year at Rock Hill High and loves to play volleyball. My other son Mason is a eighth grader at Sullivan and plays baseball. I have two miniature Schnauzers name Abbey and Jude, both named after Beatles albums or songs. I also love books. and read whenever I have down time.
