Ms. Elexis Hawkins

Hello. My name is Elexis Hawkins and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Independence this year. I am from Blythewood, South Carolina. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2017 where I earned a B.A in Elementary Education. While at Coastal Carolina, I interned in fifth grade, and I really enjoyed working with the age group and I enjoyed learning and teaching the curriculum. 

 

 I taught third grade for half a year Horry County School District. After, that that school year I move to the Rock Hill School District and got back to teaching fifth grade!  This will be my fourth full year of teaching and I have taught fifth grade for all four of those years. 

 

Teaching for me, is a way to express my love for children and share my passion of learning. My goal is to prepare students for the future and help them to become the best version of themselves.

 

I cannot wait to start this year and meet you all!
