Kindergarten is the beginning of your's child educational journey. This is where they will learn to love learning. Each day students have opportunities to play, learn and grow through hands-on centers, discoveries and active engagement. We sing, count, write, read, listen and explore all day long. In math we focus on number sense, shapes, addition, subtraction and solving real world problems. During writer's workshop we write narratives, persuasive writing and informational books. In science we explore our five senses, living and nonliving things, weather and investigate properties and materials. In Social studies we learn how to be a good citizen, explore maps, learn about past and present and the importance of our national symbols and holidays. Each year is exciting and the growth is amazing to watch!
The Kindergartners had a great field trip to Black's Peaches. We learned about cotton, corn, dairy cows, listened to stories, went on a hay ride, and made our way through two mazes! We ended the day with a picnic lunch and ice cream! We would like to thank all of the chaperones who were able to go, we could not do it without you!As we head in to November we are preparing for our Thanksgiving Play! Please plan to join us on Thursday, November 15th. We will perform our play and then welcome everyone to stay and enjoy a Thanksgiving lunch provided by the cafeteria. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding times and cost of lunch. We are hard at work getting ready and can not wait to perform for everyone! Please let your child's teacher know if you have any questions! We hope to see everyone on November 15th!
