Return to school
We are excited about the upcoming school year at York Road, however, many questions, concerns, and uncertainties still exist as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. Rock Hill Schools Return to School Committee has been meeting since early June to plan Rock Hill schools’ return to school.
The committee plans to make a recommendation to the Superintendent to present to the school board tonight at the work session. Your survey feedback supports the committee’s plans and decision on the return to school options, which include: 1) a return to school on a traditional schedule, 2) a blended learning return (part remote learning and part in school), and 3) a full virtual return.
In addition, district leaders are in the process of developing a Rock Hill Schools Virtual School that will operate independent from SPHS. At this time, details about enrollment criteria, selection timelines, or details of its structure have not been provided to schools as district leaders are finalizing plans. More information will be provided from district leaders about the Rock Hill Schools Virtual Program next week during information sessions held today, July 14th and July 16th. Additional questions can be submitted to RHSvirtual@rhmail.org.
Registration is required for each session.

We anticipate a final decision will be made this week about the return to school option which may include an earlier back to school start date. Once the return to school option is final, district leaders will provide school leaders guidelines that will inform and guide our return to school plans. Our hope is to share with you specific return to school information as soon as possible, which includes COVID-19 school safety guidelines and expectations, instructional structures, and important back to school dates so you may plan accordingly.
