Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Cynthia Ellis, and I have been teaching first grade for the past six years. I really like teaching first grade as it is a big transition grade for reading, math, and becoming more independent. I also taught ten years in private four year old kindergarten, this is where I found my love for teaching and decided to pursue a degree. I graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and recently finished my Master in Education from Anderson University. I also have a degree in Commercial Graphic Arts from McDowell Technical Community College in Marion, NC.
I am married to a wonderful man, Tim Ellis, who is a United States Marine and is now safely home and working in Charlotte, NC and together we have four children. We have one son who is also a teacher in Easley, South Carolina, two daughters who are both attending Converse College at the current time, and another daughter who works full time. We have one beautiful granddaughter named Tessa and a new grandson named Tobias. In my spare time I love to read, run and exercise, and work in the yard, and we skydive together as a family when we get the chance!
