2024 Winter Commencement Ceremony

The Rock Hill Schools' winter graduates celebrated all their achievements during the 2024 graduation commencement ceremony on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Family and friends filled South Pointe High's auditorium to support their students as they received their hard-earned diplomas. South Pointe High School, Northwestern High School, and Rock Hill High School held a ceremony together graduating a total of 90.

Between the three high schools, 39 graduates earned the South Carolina Seal of Distinction and 10 earned Highest Honors or Honors.

Commencement speaker Dean Faile, President and CEO of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce, addressed the students and their parents at the commencement. His message--go slow and think about what you are doing, but take it head-on once you've figured it out.

"In life, graduates, you will be presented with opportunities. Maybe by someone you trust or maybe you stumble across it. Maybe you seek it out and find it yourself," Faile said. "I suggest you implement the five-second rule when making a decision about it and if this is for you I suggest you act quickly."

"Invest in yourself every day. Don't let this learning be your last," he said.

Dr. Keith Wilks, Assistant Superintendent of Support Services, also addressed the students. “Please remember your time here and come back to show other students what they can accomplish," he said.

Rock Hill Schools wishes the best to all 2024 winter graduates now and in the future. We are so proud of you.
