Rock Hill Schools Announces Administrative Changes & Placements

On May 9 2023, Rock Hill Schools’ Board of Trustees approved the following administrative changes for the 2023-24 school year as recommended by district leadership. We look forward to welcoming the following individual to Rock Hill Schools.

The Applied Technology Center announces Jen Newendyke as director for the upcoming school year.

Newendyke is joining Rock Hill Schools from Freeport, Ill. where she had been serving, since 2019, as an Assistant Regional Superintendent for the State of Illinois Regional Office of Education #8.

She also has more than a decade of experience as a Career Technical System Director and Career Advisor. Her work has resulted in the award of multiple competitive grants and she has provided leadership in the establishment of several career awareness and development events in addition to starting five new regional CTE programs to meet employer demand. 

Additionally, she has spent years as as seventh grade teacher and then an instructional coach at middle school level. In the community she has worked as an assistant director of a theater and served as President of her local Rotary Club and as secretary and a founding member of a community kitchen.

She earned a Masters Degree in Education from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Rock Hill Schools Announces Administrative Placements

The following administrators will serve in different leadership capacities for the 2023-2024 school year at the direction of the Superintendent.

Heather Andrus will serve as Director of the Virtual Academy. She is currently serving as Principal at Rawlinson Road.

Dr. Marty Conner will serve as Senior Executive Director of Administration Services. Dr. Conner is currently serving as Executive Director of Alternative Learning this past year.

Derek McQuiston will serve as Executive Director of Alternative Learning. He is currently serving as Assistant Director of the Virtual Academy this past year.

Dr. Juan Roldan will serve as Director of Recruitment and Onboarding. Dr. Roldan is currently serving as Principal at Sullivan Middle School.
