Rock Hill Schools Announces Administrative Changes

On Nov. 14, 2022, Rock Hill Schools’ Board of Trustees approved the following administrative changes for the 2022-2023 school year as recommended by Superintendent Dr. Tommy Schmolze. The following individual will begin her new duties in January 2023.

Jessica Wren, who has been working as an English to Speakers of Other Languages District Coach this school year will be joining Rock Hill High Schools as an Assistant Principal.

Wren started with Rock Hill Schools in 2013 at Dutchman Creek Middle School as a Spanish Teacher. She quickly became a shining member of the school team and was nominated as “Teacher of the Year” in 2014 at Dutchman Creek. That year she also became a top three finalist for the South Carolina State Spanish Teacher of the Year. She has also worked at Northwestern High School teaching Spanish before becoming Assistant Principal at Rock Hill High School where she worked for three years. She transitioned to a district coaching position last summer and will return to her post at Rock Hill High this school year.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in May 2011 from Winthrop University. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching — Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Southern California and a Educational Specialist's Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
