On Sept. 28, 2021, Rock Hill Schools’ Board of Trustees approved the following administrative change for the 2021-2022 school year as recommended by district leadership.  

Carlos Richardson will join South Pointe High School as athletic director.

He has been working at Chambers High School in Charlotte as athletic director for more than 11 years. In 2020 he was selected as a finalist for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Athletic Director of the Year. He’s also contributed to securing 95 athletic scholarships over a five year span and helped orchestrate five state titles in various sports over eight years.

Mr. Richardson has also taught English for nine years in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and in Bladensburg, Maryland.
