• Volunteer Information

Richmond Drive has a variety opportunities for parents & grandparents to volunteer in our Library.  Many of our parents enjoy coming in during their child's class to help with book selection and checking out.  Other volunteers prefer to come in at a regularly scheduled time for an hour or two to help with library maintenance, such as checking in the returned books, sorting and shelving books, repairing damaged books, labeling and preparing new books, and various fun projects.  Whatever works best for you, we are happy to have you as an Indian Lane Library Volunteer.

    Procedures for Our Wonderful Volunteers

    • Before coming in to volunteer in the library, please be sure to complete all the necessary clearances and submit to our office.
    • If you are coming in for a class time, please come a few minutes before the class begins.  An important role during this time will be helping with student book selection and checking out books on the computer system.  You may also come in a little early or stay a little late to help with checking in and shelving books, if you choose.

    • If you would like to volunteer for a morning "Check-In/Shelving" time slot from 9:15-10:15, please know that the times are somewhat flexible.  If you can only come for a portion of the time, such as one hour, that is fine.

    • Ms. Patton may or may not be able to assist volunteers, depending on the class schedule.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Ms. Patton.
