Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. William Tonks

I was born and raised in Montvale, New Jersey where I resided for 26 years. I graduated from Ramapo college of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s degree in Literature. Upon graduation I moved to Florida where I spent 8 years in education. I taught for 4 years in the area of ELA and Drama to 6-8 grade students, before working on obtaining my Masters in Educational Leadership. After obtaining my Masters’ Degree, I held the roles of Dean of Students, before serving as an Assistant Principal for both middle school and high school students. After taking a year and a half away from education, I returned to education in the role of Literacy Coach for a year and half, before moving to Rock Hill in 2015.

This is my fourth year at Castle Heights, and my second as an Assistant Principal in South Carolina. I can’t wait to begin another year with the students! When not working my hobbies include playing guitar, reading, and writing. I enjoy spending time with my wife, my son and our dogs.
