8th grade Baby Picture Slideshow...The 8th grade baby picture slide show will be shared with students on June 1, the same day as their picnic. Students and parents may submit, electronically, three pictures to be included in the video: one “baby” picture, (birth-age five) and up to two school-aged photos that include themselves and other kids doing kid things. We ask that images be appropriate – no tongues sticking out, no hand gestures, etc. Pictures must be received at the following email address by May 21: email@example.com. Please make sure the file you submit is a picture file extension (jpeg, jpg, png, preferred). PDF files will not be accepted. If you have questions call Mrs. Polk at 981-1508. Copies of the slideshow will not be available for copy or purchase due to copyright restrictions on the music used. Make sure the student’s name is in the subject line of the email message. Families will get to see the video during the awards ceremony on May 30.
8th Grade Appreciation Day T-shirts...It’s time to order 8th Grade Appreciation Day T-shirts. Shirts will be yellow with green print. Students will only be allowed to sign the back of the T-shirts on 8th Grade Appreciation Day, June 1. Place your order through this link.
Dental Van...will be at RRMS on Friday, May 19.
6th grade parent...remember that all rising 7th graders in SC are required to have documentation that they have received a Tdap vaccine in order to attend to school. If you believe your child has had the vaccine, please contact your primary care physician or the health department and ask them to provide documentation. Medications...If your student has medications in the health room, please plan to pick them up by NOON, June 1. According to RHSD#3 medication policy, no medication may be kept in the health rooms over summer break. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Neil.
Spring Reading Challenge...is going on. Check out the Canvas course and get busy reading books that meet the challenges. Submit the assignment requirements and earns point. Once you've posted in 5 assignments you automatically qualify to attend the May 26 Read In hosted by the Media Center. At the Read In attendees will read and snack and have a chance to win some door prizes. The Read In kicks off the RRMS summer reading challenge for all rising 6th-8th graders.
Winthrop University’s 3rd Annual Sonia Kovalevsky Day...will be Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Owens Hall, Room 103. Join us for a day full of fun mathematics for girls grades 6-8. Topics will include sequences, Fibonacci Numbers, the Golden Ratio, the Golden Rectangle and more. You can expect interactive lessons, group activities, free lunch, free t-shirt and a scavenger hunt. Dress Code Uniforms...if you have any shirts, pants, hoodies that meet dress code and your student is leaving RRMS, please consider donating those items to the school. You can drop off washed clothing in the front office between now and the end of the school year. Thank you!
Tutoring...will end the week of May 12. Any student that needs extra help can attend tutoring but must come with an assignment they are struggling with. They must have a specific assignment or standard difficulty, or the tutor will send them on their way. Tutors are as follows:
