2021 Black History Month Oratory Contest

This year for the City of Rock Hill's Black History Month Virtual program, they are having an oratory contest. This can be in almost any art form and must be submitted as a two minute or less video. This may be in the form of spoken word (English teachers!!!),  poem, drama, song or playing of instrument (Performing Arts teachers!!).

This year's contest theme is:
"Harlem Renaissance: The Manifestation of Literature, Art, Stage Performance, & Music in the African American Culture."

Last year we had a 2nd place winner from RHHS! Let's see if we can win this year!

The deadline is February 8.  See the attached flyer for more details. There is a permission form that will need to be submitted, along with a brief artist statement. The attachment also includes a rubric to help guide students to an excellent submission. Please let contact Mrs. Looper (klooper@rhmail.org) if you have questions.
