What is WIN?
WIN is an employment skills assessment system. Employers use WIN® to measure workplace skills of employees and job applicants. Schools and colleges also use WIN to prepare students for the workplace.
WIN is made up of several assessment tests that measure different kinds of employment-related skills. Three assessments demonstrate basic skills:
- Applied Mathematics
- Reading for Information
- Locating Information
Will I Earn a Certificate?
You can earn the WorkReady SC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) by taking these three assessments and scoring at least a “3” on each. The nationally recognized CRC certifies that you are WorkReady to employers. Being ready for work is very important to employers when they seek to hire new employees.
- A Score of 3 - Bronze Certificate: This certifies that you have the basic skills for 16% of the jobs in the United States. To earn a Bronze Certificate, you must score at least a “3” on all three assessments.
- A Score of 4 - Silver Certificate: This certifies that you have the basic skills for 67% of the jobs in the United States. To earn a Silver Certificate, you must score at least a "4" on all three assessments.
- A Score of 5 - Gold Certificate: This certifies that you have the basic skills for 93% of the jobs in the United States. To earn a Gold Certificate, you must score at least a “5” on all three assessments.
- A Score of 6 or 7 - Platinum Certificate: This certifies that you have the basic skills for 99% of the jobs in the United States. To earn a Platinum Certificate, you must score at least a "6" all three assessments.
Higher scores mean that you are capable of performing a wider set of employment positions.
