School Supply ListsAs we get ready for Back to School, all of our schools have been able to post their school supply lists on our website:

The State of South Carolina’s Sales Tax-Free Weekend this year is Aug. 5 through 7 and includes tax-free shopping for school supplies, shoes and clothing. More information about that is available on the State’s Department of Revenue website:

School LunchUnder the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, school districts are able to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program to increase access of free school meals for students. During the 2022-23 school year, the program has allowed free breakfast and lunch to be available at:

  • Independence Elementary
  • Northside Elementary
  • Richmond Drive Elementary
  • Sunset Park Elementary
  • York Road Elementary
  • Rawlinson Road Middle School

If your child is attending a school without the CEP, then we will return to charging pre-pandemic prices for school meals. Pricing can be found on our food service webpage.

If you are looking to apply for free or reduced-price meals, the form is now available for the 2022-23 school year and can be found on our website:

TransportationPlease be patient as we will be working out a new digital system for this school year. Families indicating they need transportation service will get login information to a new app through the State of South Carolina before the start of school.

Verification ReminderIf you haven’t already done so, please be sure to verify with us that your student will be returning for the 2022-23 school year. Proof of residency is essential and schools are reaching out to families whose proof of residency didn’t fit the criteria. Schedules and class placements will not be available until you finish the process.

Our in-person Verification Help Center is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Sunset Park Elementary from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Any questions that can be handled over the phone should be directed to the school.

Thank you so much for being part of our community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.
