    The South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Education Foundation (SCRLEF) manages scholarships on behalf of a variety of organizations that supports hospitality education. These scholarships are designed to assist students who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to the hospitality (restaurant, food service, lodging, tourism) industry. We are accepting applications for the 2019/2020 SCRLEF scholarships in the Hospitality Industry and encourage your students to apply to continue their education in the industry, the application deadline is May 1, 2019.

    The Dan M. Sherer, Sr., Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2000

    The Frankie L. Pittman Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2000

    The HOSA Scholarship in the amount of $500

    Application - Due May 8th, 2019

    Each applicant must be a student who has completed a minimum of four Career and Technology (CATE) courses at the high school and/or at the Applied Technology Center and has been accepted to and will be attending an accredited postsecondary institution.  An applicant must be a high school senior in good standing with an overall GPA of 2.50 or higher and a GPA of 4.0 in CATE course work.  (Note: The scholarship committee reserves the right to select scholarship recipients based on economic need. Students wishing to receive this consideration by the Scholarship Committee must include a current copy of their completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) EFC (Expected Family Contribution) documentation in their scholarship packet.

    *Only current HOSA members meeting the above criteria are eligible for the HOSA scholarship.

    Applicants must submit an application, a one-page typewritten essay expressing your career goals and how courses at Career and Technology courses have helped you in the selection of these goals, and two (2) letters of recommendation from persons who can best attest to your potential ability to perform well in your chosen area of study.  At least one of the letters must be from a CATE teacher.
