What is Challenger?
Challenger is an after-school enrichment program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The program is housed at each of the district's elementary schools. The Challenger enrichment program is separate from the regular school day. Challenger is an optional, self-supporting, academic program. The Challenger program operates daily during the school year from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Enrollment for Challenger is on a full-time basis during the school year. Enrollment is based on the expectation that students are able to actively participate in the program and meaningfully benefit from being with other children. Registration forms must be turned in to the Site Director for their review.
How do I register my child for Challenger?
Students may begin attending Challenger the first week of each month. We will no longer add students every Monday.
Registration packets must be turned in to the school’s Challenger Director by the third Tuesday of each month to start Challenger the first Monday of the following month. Registration packets consist of pages A, B, C, D and an Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization form. It is important that you fill the forms out completely. If information has been left off forms A, B, C, D or the EFT authorization, the packet will be returned to you and not processed.
Monday, April 9, 2018 is the last day we will add Challenger students.
Friday, May 25, 2018 will be the last day of Challenger for the 2017-2018 school year.
Challenger registration will begin in elementary schools for the 2018-2019 school year on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Registration packets should be returned to the office and the office staff will place registration packets in the Challenger director’s box. Registration packets must be reviewed by the Challenger Site Director before being sent to the District Office to be processed. The last day to return completed registration forms to the Challenger Director is Friday May, 25, 2018.
Beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018 Challenger registration forms will only be taken at the Rock Hill School District Office
