Academy Information

All South Pointe High School virtual students are expected to abide by the following guidelines.
- Students must login each class period. Attendance will be taken daily.
- Students should log-in to your teacher’s Canvas page to obtain Zoom or Google Meets log-in information prior to the start of class.
- Students will be considered absent if they do not login within 15 minutes of the start of class, unless they have notified their teacher.
- Students should have their teacher assignments, instructional materials, and resources available during live virtual class sessions.
- Students should be prepared to ask their teachers questions or get academic feedback.
- Students must complete all assigned assignments and assessments given by their teacher.
- All assignments, activities, assessments must be submitted by the due date, unless approved by their teacher for late submission.
- Students must complete all make-up work or assessments per the South Pointe High School Parent and Student Handbook.
- While logged into a class, students must keep their cameras on during the entire class.
- Students must have the appropriate virtual background. All virtual backgrounds should be student friendly and should not include any vulgar or disruptive images.
- Students should be in a safe, quite learning friendly environment during virtual classroom sessions. Additionally, students should have on appropriate school attire.
- No visitors, guests, or parents may enter into the virtual classroom session.
- Student behavior should be school appropriate and free of any misbehavior. The teacher reserves the right to dismiss any student during live video classroom sessions.
- All classroom discipline, guidelines, and expectations outlined by the South Pointe High Student Handbook must be followed.
