Special Education

I am Johnnaye Marcella Elijah and I teach SPED at South Pointe. A wife and mother of three, I was born in Winston-Salem, NC, but I reside in Charlotte, now. I enjoy traveling, being outside, summer reading, relaxing and watching good movies.  

My educational career began with my general studies degree from R.J. Reynolds high school. After high school, I attended Winston-Salem State for my undergraduate degree in reading with a minor in psychology.  I later completed a Master’s program at UNC Charlotte in special education followed by Masters in school administration and leadership from Gardner Webb University. Additionally, I completed my Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner Webb University. My personal vision for myself and others is to "treat people like you want to be treated."
