Miss Emily Marousek

Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Emily Marousek

My name is Emily Marousek.   This is my fourth year teaching and third year teaching at IDES. I did my student teaching at Pinecrest Elementary in Greenwood District 50. I graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Even though I’m coming from Greenwood, I am not from there. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I came to Lander University on a softball scholarship and played all four years there. Go Bearcats! Even though I am proud of the Chicago Cubs for breaking their 108-year curse, I am a die-hard Chicago White Sox fan. You may know one of my favorite white Sox players A.J. Pierzynski, he used to be the catcher for the Atlanta Braves.

This year I will be teaching math to all 5th graders! I’m so excited to be teaching this subject and getting the students prepared for their middle school adventure. My goal is to make my students math geniuses!  I truly love math and I could do math problems all day if I had the time to.  Not only will the students be learning, but I will be learning from the students as well. I am so excited to spend this next year getting to know all of them and seeing them grow throughout the year!
