• Meal Payment Procedures

    • General

The purpose of this procedure is to establish guidelines for the payment for cafeteria meals and the collection of debts for full pay and reduced students. It is applicable to all schools within Rock Hill School District.

      Method of Payment

Money may be added to a student’s account at any time. Parents may pay in advance. Payments may be made through the Food Service Department web page at https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/.   Additionally, payment may be made by check or cash in the cafeteria.  The use of cash is strongly discouraged.

      Charge Procedures

If a student has not prepaid for a meal, the following charge procedure may be utilized:

       Elementary and Middle Schools

      • Students in elementary and middle schools will be allowed to charge up to $10. When the student’s balance reaches the threshold of $10, the student will be served an alternate meal. The alternate meal will consist of a sandwich, fruit (1/2 cup), and milk.

      • Full paying student accounts will be charged the prevailing full-pay meal price for the alternate meal. Reduced student accounts will be charged the prevailing reduced meal price for the alternate meal.

      • The Cafeteria Manager will send written notices home every Friday for collection of that week’s charges. If payment is not received the following Monday, the parent will be contacted by the Manager or Cashier. If parents have been contacted and payment has not been received by Wednesday, the Cafeteria Manager will request assistance from the school to contact the parents. The cafeteria manager will send a letter (signed by the Finance Director) to the parent giving them five working days to make arrangements to settle the debt. If no response is received by the following Wednesday, the cafeteria manger will refer the matter to the District’s Office of Financial Services to begin collection efforts.

High School students and Adults will not be allowed to charge; however, they may prepay for meals.
