Ms. LeMeisha Woods
Hello! I am the School Counselor at Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies and am excited to return for the 2018-2019 school year.
I am most excited about working in this district because I myself am a product of Rock Hill Schools. I attended York Road Elementary, Rawlinson Road Middle and Northwestern High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/ Education from Clemson University- Go Tigers!!! I also received a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Webster University as well as a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Winthrop University.
I have had several careers that have molded me to become a great elementary counselor. After graduating from college, I began my career as a social worker and after that, I started work in the field of mental health counseling. As a mental health counselor, I worked for Vocational Rehabilitation Services and in the private sector providing individual, group and parenting counseling to families in need. I also taught in Charlotte, Atlanta and Rock Hill schools. Although I gained great tools in my previous careers, being able to combine both my teaching and counseling skills to become a school counselor has been most rewarding!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my happiest moments includes time spent with my thirteen-year-old son- Christian and three-year-old daughter- Addison. I love traveling both inside and outside of the country, trying new restaurants, attending/ viewing sporting events (especially Clemson Football games) and going on adventurous outings.
I really enjoy working with children and seeing student growth. Learning each student as an individual and implementing tools to ensure social, emotional and academic maturity fulfills me daily. I am very passionate about ensuring that all students are well-rounded individuals; therefore I always bring my better self to school each morning in order to ensure student success.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need my assistance. I’m looking forward to another wonderful year here at Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies
