Ms. Sabrina Bundy

Hi to all,

I am Sabrina Bundy and I am a Physical Education teacher!  I began my teaching career in Gaston County, North Carolina where I grew up as a child.  After several years of teaching math I finally landed my dream job when Mr. Joel West hired me to teach elementary Physical Education. I will be starting my 13th year of teaching Physical Education at Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies after 17 years at Ebinport Elementary.

I believe that I have the best teaching job on the planet!  Students love to be active and move so it’s awesome when they display so much joy to come to class.  How cool is that?  I’m blessed to have a job where moving is learning that benefits both physical and mental health, academic learning, and promotes developing social skills through cooperation and negotiation in activity based settings.

I was honored to receive the South Carolina Association for Physical Education and Sport (SCAPES) 2016 Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year award.  I became National Board Certified in Physical Education in 2001 and re-certified my National Board in 2010. I attended and survived the cold winters of Appalachian State University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.  I earned a Master’s degree from Winthrop University. Believing that learning is life long I attend and present in various professional development learning opportunities.

I have always been active and just recently completed my eighth half-marathon. I am an avid sports fan with my favorite teams being the Dallas Cowboys, the Duke Blue Devils, and my alma mater the Appalachian State University Mountaineers.  I also enjoy gardening and listening to all types of music.
