• Battle of the Books is perfect for students who love to read and love competition. The goal for this program is to introduce our 4th and 5th graders to a variety of literature and at the same time allow them to work as a team with fellow students, improve their reading skills, and enjoy the thrill of competition.

Students that have read all ten books (7 by December 19, and the remaining 3 by the end of January) listed below will compete for a spot on the school's Battle of the Books team. The team will advance to a district level competition in the spring 2020.

If your 4th or 5th grader is interested in participating in the Rock Hill Battle of the Books, please see Mrs. Ellison in the media center, or email her at kellison@rhmail.org or call 803-981-1546. We will be having an interest meeting in August, and more information will come home with interested students.
