Degrees and Certifications:
Hello EBES Families. I feel very fortunate to be beginning my 22nd year in Rock Hill Schools and third as the principal of Ebenezer Avenue Elementary School. I am originally from Simpsonville, SC arriving to Rock Hill by way of Winthrop University where I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Earlier in my career I taught third and fourth grade at Sunset Park Elementary School before becoming an Assistant Principal at Saluda Trail Middle School. Following my time at STMS I moved to Belleview Elementary where I served as principal for eight years before moving to Castle Heights Middle as the principal for a year and a half. It has been an exciting journey, but I am happy to be back at the elementary level where I am most passionate.
My wife, Sadie, is a Rock Hill “lifer” leaving only to attend Clemson University. She also works for the district in the capacity of Lead School Nurse. Our oldest daughter, Madison, is a product of Ebenezer Ave. and is entering her junior year at Anderson University. Many of the teachers she had during her time at EBES are still current members of our staff which speaks to the strength and endurance of the school’s positive culture. We also have two younger children, Mary Ella and Charlie. Mary Ella is beginning her first year of middle school at Sullivan Middle and Charlie is a rising third grader in the Spanish Immersion program at Cherry Park Elementary.
As we begin to embark on what will definitely prove to be a very different year for our students and staff I want to thank you for trusting us with your children. 2020 has provided us all the opportunity to learn, grow, and reflect. Out of problems come promise and we promise to make 2020 memorable and remarkable for our students and families.
