Mrs. Caroline Roueche
Greetings! Welcome to our resource class!
I am Caroline Roueche, Special Education teacher for 47 years, the last 28 here at Independence. My job is to help my students to be successful in the regular class curriculum by providing instruction in reading, writing and math. Having grown up in Rock Hill, I graduated from Rock Hill High School. I have a BS in Special Education from Winthrop and a MEd in Special Education from USC. My writer/photographer husband Terry and I have four grown children- Elizabeth, an accountant at Leitner Construction married to Damien, crime analyst for the RHPD; Jon, works at the airport in Charlotte, Mary Virginia, a teacher coach married to Jason a middle school teacher in Charleston, and Lee, digital media developer at the Museum of the American Revolution married to Phil professor of public policy at University of Delaware living in Delaware. We have three beautiful grandchildren- Virginia, 7 and Ella, 5 in Charleston and Benjamin, 5 in Rock Hill. Terry and I love to travel and explore new cultures. This summer we went to Lebanon to make a documentary film about Terry’s family. We have visited 48 states and 14 foreign countries and 3 continents! At home you can find me in my kitchen trying new recipes!
