My name is Ben Hingle and I am thrilled to join the Independence family this year.  Before teaching music at Independence, I was the Director of Bands at Rock Hill High School for seven years.  I have also held positions at Cheraw High School (2013-2015) and AR Rucker Middle School (2009-2013).  

 

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in tuba performance, both from Winthrop University.  I have been married for 13 years and have two children, Alex and Beth.  Both are students in the Rock Hill school system.  Some of my hobbies are playing golf, camping, hiking, and biking with my son.  

 

I'm very much looking forward to teaching music at Independence and passing on my love for music and music performance to my students!
