The Cause of the Ism’s

The main cause of the Ism’s come from Hate. Ever since early civilization, racism, ableism, classism, lookism, and ageism have been a problem with all man kind. Hate is everywhere no matter where you go or whom you encounter. You can not avoid being a victim or committing acts towards ableism, racism, ageism, classism, and lookism.

The Effect of the Ism’s

The Ism’s effect the people in the world. This is a serious problem. Racism: In Alabama, they boycotted when Dr. Martin Luther King was alive. In 1955 to 1965 African Americans fought ten years for their equal rights. In the Jena six 3 white students hung nooses from a tree because some African Americans wanted to sit under the shade of a traditional tree for the whites. The principle told the African American students they could sit any-where they want. The following morning when the students arrived they saw some nooses.

The Ism's effect many Americans daily and the outcomes from being victims of these can cause emotional and physical harm. Ageism: For instance you can be too young to vote or you can’t get a job because you are under the appropriate age to be a manager or be a worker or if you are too old to work at a business like McDonalds. Ableism: People can tease you just because you have a learning disability or you can’t see. Lookism: If you want to model they will not let you because you do not have the ‘look’ or they say you look fat. Sometimes at a school a popular group will not let you in the group because they say you’re not pretty enough. Classism: Maybe if you are going to a fancy party and you want to invite a friend but he or she doesn’t have enough money to buy something fancy to wear and the person who is having the party will not let he or she come. Racism, Lookism, Ableism, Ageism, and Classism hurt people! So, if you see a victim of any of the Ism’s try to stop it in your neighborhood.
