Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the governing body responsible for establishing policies, setting direction, and providing support for quality educational opportunities for all students served by Rock Hill School District Three.

This school board recognizes that public support and open lines of communication are vital to a successful educational environment for students and employees. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed on the decisions which affect students and teachers, to let board members know opinions on important issues, and to attend board meetings whenever possible.

Board Meetings

The board holds two meetings monthly, a work session and a business meeting.

Work Session

On the second Monday afternoon of each month at 5:30, January through December, the board meets to discuss topics that may be acted upon at the monthly business meeting. Sessions are often held in a school, but the location is publicized.

Business Meeting

Business meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, January through November, in the district office. Citizens are always welcome to attend, but for those who can't attend, a tape of the meeting is shown on Cable 114 at 6:00 p.m. on the first two Tuesdays and Thursdays following the meeting.

Schedule/Agenda

Citizen Participation

Citizens who wish to address the board at a business meeting about items on the agenda must complete a form for this purpose prior to the time the meeting begins at 6 p.m.  Forms are located at the entrance to the meeting.

Submitting Items for the Agenda

Persons who wish to address the board at a business meeting must submit their request in writing to the Superintendent's Office by noon on the Wednesday that precedes the date of the meeting.  The request should state the purpose of the request, the name of the person who will address the board, and a telephone number of a contact person.
