Daily Substitute Teacher Pay Scale

In 2004-05, Rock Hill Schools partnered with Kelly Educational Staffing to provide daily substitutes.  Kelly Services has been a pioneer in temporary staffing and has provided substitute teachers in over 1600 schools in the nation.   Any person who is interested in subbing on a daily basis should contact Kelly Educational Staffing locally at 981-1980 or check the website at http://www.kellyservices.us/rockhill.

  • Substitutes with a high school diploma and less than a 4-year college degree $55.00 per day
  • Substitutes with a 4-year college degree from an accredited college, but not in possession of a valid SC teaching certificate (transcripts must be provided) $55.00 per day
  • Substitutes who possess a current and valid teaching certificate from a state other than South Carolina (copy of valid teaching certificate must be provided)  $65.00 per day
  • Substitutes who possess a current and valid SC teaching certificate (copy of valid teaching certificate must be provided) $70.00 per day
  • Substitutes who are retired teachers from RHSD3 who possess a current and valid SC teaching certificate (copy of valid teaching credential must be provided) $100.00 per day

 

Long-term Substitute Teacher Pay Scale

Individuals who have valid South Carolina teaching certificates and who would like to be considered for long-term substitute assignments will continue to be employed and paid through the Rock Hill School District.  To be considered for any long-term assignment, individuals must have an application for employment on file with the district and a completed pre-screening interview.  For more information on pre-screening, contact Judy Howe at (803) 981- 1024.

  • Current SC certification (in-field) - certificate pay for the entire period
  • Expired SC certification (in-field) - $130 per day for the entire period
  • College degree in teaching area with no certification (i.e., math major from an accredited institution teaching math classes)  - $130 per day for the entire period 
  • Current SC certification in related area of specialization (i.e., elementary SC certification working as a media specialist) - $130 per day for the entire period
