Academic Standards, Support Document, and End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP)

BiologyApplied Biology 2 as of 2011-2011 will be the only EOCEP test given in high school science.  Physical Science is no longer the EOCEP test.

SC Science Academic Standards and Support Guide - The SC Science Academic Standards are listed here along with the newly developed "Help" guide.  Clicking on a standard will allow visitors to access all kinds of resources, including websites and ETV video streamline clips.  Clicking on an idicator under each standard will allow visitors to access an explanation of the indicator along with assessment information.    

SC Science Blueprints for 2007 - This contains up-to-date information about the number and kinds of items that students will be tested on when they take the science portion of the Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test (PACT.)

National Science Teachers' Association - Browse through science information, check out lesson plans, find activities and more!

Resources and Materials
ScienceNetLinks - Provides great resources for K-12 science educators across a wide range of science concepts.

NASA - Information about earth, space and more is available from NASA for students and teachers.

Knowitall.org - A collection of fun, interactive websites for students, parents and teachers.  While it contains information and links to topics from all subject areas, to connect with science, check out SC Life or RiverVentures on their homepage.

National Geographic Society - Tons of information on almost any subject can be found here.  Look for the blue "Teachers and Students" box on the lower left side of the main  page.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - Here we find information on weather, oceans, satellites and climates, just to name a few!  Do a "Lesson Plans" search to find ideas about real-world applications.

The Smithsonian Institution - Take a virtual tour of the Natural History Museum or watch as Neil Armstrong takes his first step on the lunar surface!

United States Geological Survey (USGS) - Contains information about our planet, the environment, natural resources and more!  Click on "Education" to find a variety of materials for students, teachers and explorers!
